We took Chase to the pulmonologist today. We had scheduled an appointment with another but they couldn’t get us in until late January and that was the earliest anyone could. When we told our pediatrician this on Friday they called back about an hour later and told us we had an appointment and when to go.
So we have gone to this doctor before with Aiden. We did NOT like his style. Today he was better. Still not great but he wasn’t as arrogant. He put Chase on a medication to help prevent and strengthen his lungs. We will see how it goes….

So we went to Amy’s ENT that she sits for today. Dr. Richards, is his name. He’s really great with kids, I highly recommend him.
Anyway he grabbed the nose forceps and spread Alex’s nose wide open and kept asking him to say “K” over and over again. Just as he was about to give up the sticker was spotted.
He shot some peppermint spray up his nose to numb it I guess and let him suck on a peppermint candy. A few minutes later they took him away, wrapped him up in a pappoose and strapped him to a table and suctioned the sticker out of his nose.
Too much of the sticker had dissolved to tell how much it was for. I really wanted to know how much Alex thought he was worth. A quarter, fifty cents, five dollars???
As we were leaving the doctors office Alex says “The doctor put me in jail I don’t wanna go back to jail” a few moments later he says “I DONT LOVE THAT DOCTOR” It was really really funny!!!! All said and done they gave him a size appropriate sticker for him to wear and we were done.

Well Chase got out of the hospital Friday, so what smarter thing should we do than have a garage sale Saturday. Yes you heard that right.
The garage sale went really well. We sold a bunch of stuff! However, it does feel like there is more leftover than what we sold. We brought in a decent amount to help with bills which is good.
Alex was soooooo clumsy today. He was very excited about the Garage Sale and getting to ride his scooter and go to the park across the street all day long. At one point he was riding his scooter back and forth on the sidewalk and he totally crashed and burned. When I picked him up there was blood all over his face, coming from his mouth. (He’s a bleeder). The way it looked was like he knocked a tooth out. I have a friend in JR. High knock out a tooth and apparently it traumatized me because I saw his mouth and thought “OH CRAP!!!” And was sure that’s what he did. THANKFULLY HE DIDN’T. He just busted his lip up really well and skinned his face and nose up. He looks pretty pathetic with a big fat lip and sidewalk burn all over his face. Poor kiddo.

Well we went and got Alex’s staples out today. He was coloring and the PA came in and pulled them out before he even knew what happened. She didn’t numb it or anything she just grabbed the staples with the puller thing and they popped out easily. I was impressed. So was the PA.
I ended up having to go to the dentist today. Had a tooth crack. Thankfully he feels he can repair it. I really really liked the dentist though, and when I asked about him working on kids and kids with autism he said he did his practicum at a children’s hospital and worked with a bunch of autistic kids as well as other developmentally delayed kids. I really liked the guy and am excited to have found a dentist for our family.

Well today I figured I would be a nice Mom and take the boys to the park after school. We met my friend Angela there and her 2 children. Shortly after we got there Alex ran into a bar on the play equipment. The boys are boys and constantly take tumbles and stuff so I don’t react to much unless they are screaming or something. Well Aiden told me he ran into it but Alex was fine so I didn’t think anything of it. A few minutes later Aiden screams to me that Alex is bleeding from the head. I look over where he is and he turn and the side of his head is all bloody. That got my attention. He was playing just fine still. I made him stop and another mom went to her car and got me some napkins to help clean up and stop the bleeding. The cut didn’t look too bad but it was in his hair so I went ahead and called the doctor to have him look at it.
Well as we are leaving a teenage girl was there with her niece and she gets stung in the mouth by a bee. She had a sippy cup with a straw and the bee had gotten down into the straw so when she drank the bee flew into her mouth and stung her. She immediately started swelling and the aunt called 911. So we ended up being blocked in by an ambulance and fire truck. The little girl ended up being okay thankfully. She was stung on the mouth and they think she was stung on the back as well. They treated her and released her.
We headed off to the doctor. They cleaned the cut up and boy was I glad I brought him in. When it was all bloody and matted it did not look bad at all. Cleaned up it was gaping and gross. They ended up giving him 3 staples in his head to keep the wound shut. Thankfully Neil showed up so he got to hold him down for the shots in his head to numb it before they stapled.
All in all it was a very eventful park trip.
