Wednesday

May14

Well it’s Wednesday again. We are supposed to get MORE RAIN today. I love rain but not when it interferes with plans. This week it is AGAIN. Ooooh well.

So updates… We were able to get Chase transferred to Westfield. That will simplify my routine next year and he will transition from DD Pre-K to Kindergarten there. I am happy about that. It was a really painless process getting him transferred. Thank you God!

Also found out that our insurance should cover his medical testing we want to have done through some specialty labs. Instead of having to pay 100% up front we only have to pay 20% and will be reimbursed the 20% later. Sooooo much better. I was thrilled.

Aiden got new glasses yesterday. It was a veeeerry long process finding him a pair. He’s right on the edge of needing kids glasses or adult glasses. He and I kept butting heads on what looked good on him. He finally decided I was right about the shape and picked out a pair he liked in that shape so we were both happy. Hopefully they last the 2 years because I do not look forward to that again. He looks really cute in the glasses though! I need to take a picture.

What is the equivalent of the “bridesizlla” syndrome for birthday parties??? Alex has whatever it is. I really think that just turning 3 does it. ITS NUTS! Alex last night was being sooooo headstrong. He normally is but last night even more so. He wears me out. Making sure you win your battle with him can take hours. I pray he learns who is the boss QUICKLY. Or rather re-learns or realizes nothing has changed. Ahhhh!

I am behind on my reading and paperwork. I hope to get farther along today and be caught up by the end of the week. *crossing my fingers*

Hope you’re all having a good week!

Alex turned 3!!!

May12

My little Alex turned 3 this weekend! It blows my mind that my youngest child is 3!! He was thrillled about his party. I don’t think any of our boys have looked forward to their party as much as Alex was. It was really cute. He kept asking when it was and telling us about it being a pirate party as if we didn’t know since we purchased all the stuff. LOL!

I decided to make Alex’s cake this year. It’s been a while since I had made any of the boys a cake like I used to. So this year I took on a pirate ship. No big deal had I not agreed to make 5 other cakes the day before. I love making cakes so it’s not a big deal just a lot to take on all at once. So anyway Alex’s cake took me 5-6 hours to make and about 10 minutes to cut apart and eat. HAHA! It turned out really good! Alex was super excited about it. Which of course was the goal.

Alex got a lot of cool stuff for his birthday and we had alot of fun with all his friends! Thanks everyone who came! It was great!

Well here we go starting another year with Alex… can’t wait to see what it holds!

Please Talk to Strangers

May7

Today I took the boys to Wal-Mart. As we were going about our shopping passing people I hear Chase’s little voice say “HI” to a man that just walked by me. He stopped and said hi back to Chase and Chase says “How you doing today?” to which the man says “good” Chase says “good” smiles and says “Bye!” I was THRILLED!!!!! It was a completely typical conversation that Chase initiated with someone who caught his eye. I was happy the man took time to say hello to him and didn’t ignore him like most people do when Alex says hi. (Alex is VERY friendly). So as I thought about it I got tickled by the fact that I was soooo thrilled my son was talking to strangers when we tell them not to…. hence the name for the title. Haha!!!

Where is Thumbkin? Where is Thumbkin?

May6

Here I am. Here I am!! Okay so it’s been about a week since I posted. It’s been a rough couple of weeks really. Everyone got sick and Chase stayed sick. It was a mess. They all started out with allergies/asthma stuff which turned into ear infections, sinus infections, pink eye….  The other boys cleared up but then Chase got the worst yeast diaper rash I’ve ever seen. It was painful. We had to put him on more meds. to kill that. He’ll be on them for awhile longer. He also had to do a second round of antibiotics and get a steroid shot. The steroid sent him spinning for a few days. It was ROUGH. But now he’s back on track and doing well. Thank you Jesus! I was really worried.

The boys have been really funny lately. Alex really. He’s turning out to be quite the comedian. Oh an quite the dancer. Neil put on some music this weekend. Alex and Aiden were dancing. Aiden unfortunately got my rhythm and dances to his own tune while Alex has got some crazy moves. Neil and I were cracking up as he got his dance face on and busted a move. LOL! I tried to get video but he was tired by then. So hopefully another time.

Aiden is very excite about school being out soon. SO AM I!!! I am sooooo ready for summer. We will be having big changes happening this summer. I am excited to see how it all goes and to reaaaally be doing something to help the boys feel better.

Neil and I went to another Biomedical meeting. They invited a woman from a supplement company and also who is a general manager for one of the labs that does specialized testing to come in and share about supplements and explain them to everyone. It was a huuuuuuuge help. She of course told us about the supplements they carry and gave options if they didn’t work. They carry their brand and many others. She really helped clear a lot up for Neil and I. I still have LOOOOTS of research but it’s a huge step in the right direction.

Well I have a busy week ahead of me – the part that remains anyway. I better get off here and go make my to do list so I don’t forget anything.
